Returning to NZ after an extensive European OE having worked in the UK in Retail, Credit Finance, Franchising in the Automotive industry as well as the Entertainment sector with fighting Robots. In Christchurch I have been involved in working in Carbon Forestry and now Construction. My work life has been full and varied. Family, friendships and sport are again full and varied. Although shaky, Christchurch is still a wonderful place to live and work.
Completed automotive apprenticeship, serving 10 years in that industry. This followed by 25 years in civil construction, beginning as a digger operator progressing through to management roles. This has provided a vast experience in roading, driveway and demolition work, including concrete demolition which fits well with a positive, can do attitude, able to work out the tricky jobs.
Relocated from the North Island in 2012 to join the Canterbury rebuild effort. Thirty years of mixed experience in the timber & hardware, earthworks, residential construction and exterior landscape construction industries. Best suited to dotting the I’s and crossing the t’s.
Immigrated from South Africa 3 years ago bringing with him 17 years of experience in the construction and asphalt industry. Having worked on the ground and in management, his skills and motivation are a good fit in his position.
Drain layer and plumber originally, worked throughout Australia for a number of years descaling kilns & furnaces with remote demolition robots. Back in NZ worked in the construction sector within the agricultural and Forestry sector as well as on commercial and Civil projects.
On returning from three years OE in the UK, spent the following eleven years self-employed in the transport industry. Austin Asphalt was founded in 1987 which certainly does not feel like 30 years ago.
